As Physiotherapists with many years of experience in treating muscle, joint and tendon injuries and other painful conditions we are highly qualified to teach Pilates. We have been trained specifically in the Pilates method.
We offer small group or individual sessions. There are no more than 5 persons in each class so that we can offer you a highly personal routine.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a total body-conditioning program involving exercises that improve your posture, strength, flexibility, balance and co-ordination. This will help to eliminate pain and give you more control over your body.
Is Pilates for Me?
Pilates does not build bulk but strengthens weak muscles and stretches tight ones. It is suitable for people of all ages - everyone can achieve a feeling of wellbeing. This is done by carrying out safe and gentle exercises. The whole process is challenging and stimulating with each exercise gradually becoming more powerful. Pilates is an excellent preventative technique that will strengthen your body against injury. Whether you need to:
- Shape and tone
- Strengthen and balance the body after injury
- Relieve chronic pain
- Prevent sports injury
- Improve posture
- Increase flexibility
- Enhance performance and improve your sex life
- Relax and de-stress
We can tailor a program to suit your specific needs. Pilates sessions are adapted to an individual's needs, level of fitness and personal goals.
The classes are run during the school term so Pilates terms may vary from 9 to 11 weeks.
Your commitment is for at least one session per week during the school term. You will be able to have one catch up session per term, i.e. if you can't come for a class you may come to another class to make it up.
One on one classes are available. School holiday classes are also available.
You will be assigned a class depending on your experience. We suggest that you book for a beginner's class if you have limited experience or have done some classes in large group.
